goodness this has gotten out of hand
WOW... so it has been a little too long since my last post. Scratch that... FAR too long. I will try to make it better... and worth the wait.
Since my last post I have begun my job at American Greetings here in Cleveland and I'm happy to report that I'm loving it! I can't post anything that I make there unfortunately(I signed a document). However, I am currently working on a line of plushies(see above) to be sold at anime/game conventions as well as online. I have dubbed this NOMNOM and even set up an email for it at nom.nom@me.com
the last image above is a commission for a character from an anime that I don't watch, haha. Anyhow, I have set up a deviantart account for my cosplay and various stuff... so head on over and check it out!

Ew, Gross-Thesis complete
So I have completed my BFA thesis project! The project was a performance/event held at The Cleveland Museum of Natural History on Monday May 3rd. Commencement ceremonies are on the 15th and I'm really excited to see my family who are coming up from TX, GA, and SC!
Last night I found out that I won the Traveling Scholarship and I'll be going to participate in The Great Primate Handshake with Alexis Hippler, who also won!
Video is soon to come, but until then, you can see more images here.

Ohayocon '10
So it's been forever since I posted last since i've been so busy. Apart from working on my thesis project for graduation, I've been preparing to go to Ohayocon '10 this coming weekend with my friend Samm. We are super excited and I've just made a super nerdy banner for the forums (which I am completely new to and barely understand). We will be posting pics from the con later so keep an eye out for them;)
The Link cosplay will be recycled from Halloween (u can see that in my Halloween post) and the Roxas one is a 'formal prom-like' version for the dance at the con. Lastly, the Chrome Dokuro costume is mostly made up of shit I own already, with the exception of the Trident weapon and the embroidered eyepatch.
I don't have pics of the eyepatch but hopefully will after the con.
Samm's costumes are Mukuro (chrome's weird counterpart-their relationship is a little unclear. I think basically mukuro controls chrome) and Axel from Kingdom Hearts (who is a PEDO for Roxas)
so excited!

Puppet Show
Poster design: Ben Kinsley
So last night was the Invading Spaces show at Spaces Galley here in Cleveland,OH. Our Puppet show went well, we got lots of laughs, mostly at our sloppiness (which we didn't mind one bit 'cuz that's what made it fun!) We performed 4 times throughout the 3 hour event. It was all recorded and when we get the time, the videos will be posted on youtube, or vimeo, and I'll post it on here as well. Samm ,Alexis, Chadd and I all had a blast!
here is a description of the event that was emailed out:
INVADING SPACES
Friday Nov20th/6-9PM
SPACES (3rd floor loft)
2220 Superior Viaduct, Cleveland, OH, 44113
A one-night only extravaganza featuring temporary, site-responsive works created inside, outside, and all around the 3rd floor of SPACES galley. This Project is a collaboration between students in two T.I.M.E.-Digital Arts classes at the Cleveland Institute of Art: "Creative Coding, Hacks, and Space" and "Media Installation". The event is facilitated by artist Ben Kinsley, who has worked with the students for 6 weeks through workshops and studio consultations.
Ben Kinsley is a multidisciplinary artist who creates site-specific responses to particular situations, often through collaboration and playful exchange with local residents. His projects have ranged from conducting an orchestra of screaming humans, directing a maritime-themed play for boaters on a lake in Maine, organizing a shadow play in the middle of the California High Desert, and choreographing a neighborhood intervention into Google Street View.

BFA preparation and Invading Spaces Show
Well, it has been quite busy around here with BFA work, website development, and preparing for a puppet show with Samm and Alexis Hippler at Spaces Gallery.
The top image is a concept drawing for the costume I will be wearing for my BFA and constructing over winter break. Once I have my revised thesis statement, I'll post that as well.
Secondly, the puppet show should be pretty fantastical and funny. There will be other performance and interactive pieces throughout the 3 hour event so if any of you out in the world of the INTERWEBZ that are anywhere near Cleveland Ohio on Nov. 20th, stop by Spaces for a good time! See u there!
